POLL: Massive Cape Cod Wind Project Proposed
A proposed area off Cape Cod could host a wind farm 10 times bigger than Cape Wind.

A newly redrawn zone off the shore of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard could be home to 850,000 acres worth of wind energy, if a plan proposed by federal regulators is accepted by environmental assessors, the Boston Globe reports.
The proposed wind farm would dwarf the highly contested Cape Wind project, potentially producing 4,000 megawatts of energy, 10 times as much as Cape Wind, according to the article.
Federal regulators expect an environmental assessment to be completed within the next year to determine how such a facility would impact bird and fish populations.
