Tractor-Trailer Crash In Hopkinton Ties Up Morning Commute On I-495

HOPKINTON, MA - A box car flipped over and a tractor-trailer veered off the road early Friday morning on the southbound side of Interstate 495, causing major traffic delays during the morning commute.

Firefighters from Hopkinton and Westboro are on the scene of the multi-vehicle crash, according to Twitter reports from both departments. The crash occurred at the intersection of the Massachusetts Turnpike.

A WCVB report said that injuries have been reported, but the extent of those injuries is not known at this time.

WBZ Traffic reported at 9:27 a.m. that the cleanup from the acident is expected to take three to four hours. The left and center lanes remain closed, as the accident happened in the median when a box truck overturned

Traffic is currently jammed back to Simarano Drive in Marlboro, and the Mass Pike Eastbound is jammed for about seven miles approaching I-495.
