Boston Police: 3 Teens Charged With Having Illegal Firearms

Illegal firearms were discovered following a police pursuit near Jewish War Veterans Drive on Tuesday night, officials said.

Boston Police arrested three male teenagers late Tuesday night for the possession of illegal firearms. The weapons were discovered following a traffic stop near the city’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood.

Officers on patrol in the area of Jewish War Veterans Drive observed the vehicle traveling at speeds upwards of 45 miles per hour through a thickly-settled area. In an attempt to stop the vehicle, offers activated their emergency lights, but the suspects sped off at a high rate of speed, police said.

Officers were finally able to stop the vehicle. All three occupants were known to police, officials said. The area was then canvassed for any contraband that may have been discarded from the vehicle during the pursuit. They recovered a loaded Charter Arms Target Bulldog 357 Magnum revolver and loaded Smith & Wesson 38 Special Model 10-7 revolver.

The operator of the vehicle, 19-year-old Jordan Searcy of Boston, was charged with refusal to submit to a police officer, operating a motor vehicle without authority, carrying a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

The passengers, 18-year-old Devonne McDonald-Jones and a 17-year-old juvenile male, both of Boston, were charged with carrying a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition.
