Career Criminal Arrested in Jamaica Plain on Firearm, Drug Charges
Darryl Robertson, 41, was arrested for the illegal possession of a loaded firearm, crack cocaine and marijuana.
Boston police officers arrested an armed career criminal in Jamaica Plain late Monday night on firearm and drug charges, officials said.
While on assigned patrol, officers observed two men drinking alcohol and smoking cigarettes in the doorway of a Dixwell Street residence. Officers approached the men to inquire if they lived their.
One man immediately started to back away from the officers. Fearing the presence of a firearm, the officer pat frisked the individual and felt a firearm in the man’s pocket, police said. The man willingly stated he was in possession of a firearm without a license to carry.

Officers recovered a loaded .22 Magnum revolver and placed 41-year-old Darryl Robertson, of Jamaica Plain, under arrest.
Robertson was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm, unlawful possession of a firearm, drinking in public, trespassing, and armed career criminal (level 3.)

During the booking process, officers found Robertson to be in possession of crack cocaine and marijuana, police said. He was charged for possession of a class B and class D drug.
Because the firearm charge was Roberston’s second and subsequent offense, he was charged as a level 3 armed career criminal. If indicted, he will face no less than 15 years in state prison under the Armed Career Criminal Statute.
