JAMAICA PLAIN, MA - A man was killed overnight in a shooting on Centre Street near the Jackson Square MBTA Station.  The Boston Police Department said the shooting happened around 1 a.m. Tuesday morning.The victim, a man in his 40s, was reportedly found shot multiple times inside an apartment complex at 267 Centre Street. He was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.       An active investigation is underway, according to police, who are asking for anyone with information to come forward.Those with information is asked to call the Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470.Community members wishing to assist this investigation anonymously can do so by calling the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1(800) 494-TIPS or by texting the word 'TIP' to CRIME (27463). The Boston Police Department will stringently guard and protect the identities of those who wish to help this investigation anonymously.      Patch will continue to update this breaking story.
