Jamaica Plain responds to the call for the proper disposal of cigarettes along Centre Street.

Earlier this week, Jamaica Plain Patch posted a story about a business owner on Centre Street who, through a neighborhood anti-litter campaign, suggested employees of JP businesses take a "smoke-free" break.
(To clarify: Her committee is trying to encourage people to properly dispose of cigarettes once finished, not to refrain from smoking as the original article suggests.)

patty wrote: "The area from Morgan Memorial to Boomerangs is a real eyesore. The sidewalks are littered with trash and cigarette butts and persons cannot walk by without being asked for spare change by vagrants who spend all day on the sidewalk...."
Phil Lindsay wrote: "...I think if the two bars there and Tedeschi's put out cigarette catchers with a sign saying "Buts are Trash. Please dispose of properly" that would help immensely."
