5 Things: Meetings, Freemasonry and Patch’s New Look

A quick look at what you need to see, do and know on June 27 in Lexington.

1. Our New Look: As you can see, Lexington Patch debuted its new look and some new features today. In addition to looking a little more like Lexington, one thing we’re really excited about is the boards – a new feature that will make it easier for you, our readers and active participants on Patch, to share your announcements, opinions and updates. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to check out the new site and let us know what you think!

2. Today in Public Meetings: According to the town website, public meetings posted for today include the Retirement Board at 8 a.m. at Cary Memorial Library, the Community Farm Committee at 8 a.m. at the Town Office Building, the Water and Sewer Abatement Board at 4:30 p.m. at the DPW Building, the Hanscom Area Towns Committee at 7:30 p.m. at the Town House in Concord, the Housing Partnership Board at 7:30 p.m. at Cary Hall and the Board of Appeals at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Office Building.

3. A Sublime Brotherhood: Two Hundred Years of Scottish Rite Freemasonry: If you haven’t yet, consider stopping by the National Heritage Museum to check out an exhibit features more than 100 objects inviting visitors to travel through time and learn about the people who shaped the Scottish Rite’s Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, and the fraternity’s contribution to its communities.

4. A Head’s Up About Parking Ticket Hearings: They’re typically held the first and third Friday of each month, but hearings will not be held next Friday, July 5, according to the town website. The next time will be Friday, July 19.

5. Looks Like Rain: Isolated showers, and then possible thunderstorms are in the forecast for today, which should also be cooler with a high of 78, according to the National Weather Service, which predicts heavy rain and more possible thunderstorms overnight with a low of 65.
