• Beacon Hill Roll Call: Healey's vetoes get little support (sentinelandenterprise.com) — State Rep. Michelle Ciccolo of Lexington is backing a new Tuskegee Airmen Commemoration Day, part of a busy stretch of Beacon Hill activity that includes tax relief for live‑in personal care attendants and several 2026 ballot questions advancing. Lawmakers also overrode all of Gov. Healey’s budget vetoes, while debates continue over rent control, marijuana repeal, and primary election changes that could affect voters statewide. 
• Banjo Great Gabe Hirshfeld Passes Away at 36, Remembered by Bluegrass Contemporaries (relix.com) — Lexington readers may recognize The Music Emporium, where late banjo virtuoso Gabe Hirshfeld recently consigned a prized vintage mandolin while recovering from serious health issues. The 36-year-old Berklee-trained musician, co-founder of The Lonely Heartstrings Band, has died following complications from a transplant and spine surgery, prompting heartfelt tributes from bluegrass stars who admired his tone, humor, and generosity.
