Children's Center of Lexington is celebrating it's 50th anniversary!

The Children’s Center of Lexington (CCL) is having a Golden Anniversary! Our school is celebrating 50 amazing years of play-based education for young children. Help us celebrate by joining the Golden Rock Hunt! You can win a $50 gift card to Amazon!

Since being established in 1971, CCL has grown tremendously servicing up to 70 toddlers and preschoolers. It was the first full-time childcare center in the heart of Lexington and continues to be an important part of the community. You will often see us walking around town in buggies or holding ropes while exploring all that Lexington center has to offer.

The Children’s Center has many wonderful qualities that have kept the school open these past 50 years. First and foremost is the staff! CCL has many teachers that have been working at the school for over 15 years, including Bonnie Mark who will be celebrating her 40th year. She started her teaching career with CCL right out of college and never looked back. Another quality that sets CCL apart are the small classroom sizes. The child to teacher ratios far exceeds that of the state requirements. The Children’s Center takes pride in being a family throughout each classroom where all students and staff know each other and feel comfortable with one another. Through the years, children who have previously attended CCL are now sending their own children here. CCL is also located on Massachusetts Avenue in rented space of the Baptist Church. Classrooms take full advantage of this location in the community with visits to the police station, fire station, walks on the bike path to Parker Meadow, as well as lunch at Mario’s and Bertucci’s just to name a few.

How are we celebrating you ask? We are happy to announce that our Spirit Week will be May 16-20, 2022. At school, we will be having a fan-favorite pajama day, classroom color day and will be ending the week with a pizza party. We want to extend this celebration into our community and have established a Golden Rock Hunt around Lexington Center starting that week! Children and staff will be hiding golden rocks decorated by the children throughout the center and along the bike path. If you find a golden rock, be sure to check the bottom and see if it’s the winner of a $50 gift card to Amazon. If you find the winning golden rock, please bring it with you to CCL at 1580 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington MA to receive your prize! We are located on the third floor of the church. We encourage everyone to take pictures of all the golden rocks found and send them to us! We would love to see you celebrating these past 50 years together!
