• Real Estate Listings Week of December 19, 2025 (lexobserver.org) — Recent home sales across several Lexington neighborhoods show multiple properties changing hands in early December, with prices ranging from just over $1 million to nearly $4 million. If you live near Burlington Street, Reed Street, Harding Road, Sherburne Road, Grapevine Avenue, Fletcher Avenue, or Hadley Road, these transactions offer a fresh snapshot of your local housing market.
   

• Contracts are up for about 1,200 Lexington educators. They all want higher pay in next deal. (lexobserver.org) — About 1,200 Lexington Public Schools employees are negotiating new contracts with the School Committee, with significantly higher pay as their top demand. Union leaders argue better compensation is needed to keep staff in Lexington and match Middlesex County wages. Talks are underway now, with hopes of ratifying agreements by the end of the school year.
   

• The best small cities in the US to live in 2025 (businessinsider.com subscription) — Lexington has been singled out nationally for having the best education and health among more than 1,300 small US cities in a new WalletHub study. The town also scored among the top performers for safety, putting Lexington alongside places like Arlington, Milton, and top-ranked small cities across the country.
