How Much Snow Did Lexington Get?

Reports from the National Weather Service after the first real snowfall of the season.

LEXINGTON, MA – It wasn't much, but it did mark the impending return of winter in New England.

According to the National Weather Service, the first real snowfall of the year dumped 2.1 inches of flakes on Lexington.

The unofficial measurement came via ham radio at 6:12 a.m. The National Weather Service often relies of community members to help measure snowfall around the state.

The snow, which started to fall last night before giving way to rain this morning, contributed to Lexington Public Schools opening two hours late.
