Lexington Named 'Top Place To Live' By Boston Magazine

It's an unprecedented time for the real estate market - and Lexington has landed a spot on Boston Magazine's "Top Places to Live."

LEXINGTON, MA — Lexington has been named a 2022 "Top Place to Live," in the upcoming issue of Boston magazine.

Every year, Boston magazine's "Top Places to Live" showcases New England's most coveted communities, breaking down the current real-estate market into a guide featured in the March issue.

The most recent "Top Places to Live" names 18 communities as Top Places to Live – examining each based on current trends, values, tax rates, and education systems.

Lexington was recognized under the headline "Route 128 or Bust," as homeowners continue to relocate to the 128 area in search of an easier commute and entry to Boston itself.

Lexington's Maria Elementary School received national recognition as a Blue Ribbon School based on its academic excellence, the magazine mentions.

Filled with gourmet dining, residents hail Mario's Italian Restaurant and also enjoy steak dinners at the Bancroft.

Once it gets warmer, the Liberty Ride Trolley Tour comes back, circling around the Minute Man monument and the Lexington Common, where the first shot of the American Revolutionary War was fired.

According to the magazine, the median single-family home price in Lexington is $1,550,000, with a residential property tax rate of $13.80.

The unemployment rate for Lexington last updated in Dec. 2021 stands at 2%.
