Police Identify Drug Suspect Who Escaped Into Lexington

Waltham Police continue searching for the suspect, a 30-year-old Lowell man, who fled police after the Middlesex County Suburban Drug Task Force observed a drug transaction on Tuesday, March 26.

Waltham Police have identified the drug suspect who escaped police pursuit on Tuesday, March 26. 

Police are searching for Jeffrey Hernandez, 30, of Lowell, according to Sgt. Tim King. 

The Middlesex County Suburban Drug Task Force had Hernandez under surveillinance on Tuesday when they witnessed him conduct a drug transaction, according to King.

Police attempted to stop Hernandez's car, but he fled into Lexington. Hernandez later abandoned his car in the Simonds Road area, according to Lexington Police Chief Mark Corr. 

Lexington Police and Massachusetts State Police -- with assistance from area departments, the MSP Air Wing and K9 units -- searched the area of Pine Meadows Golf Course in Lexington for several hours but were unable to locate Hernandez.
