Driver In SUV Hits Child Before Ramming Lexington Car Wash

LEXINGTON, MA — A driver in an SUV and a child were injured in Lexington Tuesday evening after the driver stuck the child before ramming into the brick wall housing the Mass Ave Car Wash, the Lexington Police Department confirmed to Patch Wednesday.

The driver was traveling down the hill on Hibbert Street at around 6:19 p.m. when they failed to stop their SUV at the intersection at Massachusetts Avenue, struck the child pedestrian walking on the sidewalk, and then continued forward, striking and coming to rest against the building, authorities said.

The child was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The driver, a Burlington resident, was also treated for minor injuries, according to police.

The crash is still under investigation.
