Week Ahead - Students Heading Back to School

Five things to know about the week ahead.

Welcome to our weekly column taking a look at the week ahead. Here are five things to know about this week:

1) Mostly sunny, cooler by end of the week 

After some chance of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday the rest of the week looks pretty clear. According to the National Weather Service we can expect mostly clear skies with small chances of isolated showers through the week. Temperatures will be in the 80s early this week and falling to low 70s by the weekend. 

2) Back to School 

Lexington Schools are opening for the 2013-14 school year this week. Grades K-6 will have a half day and grade 9 students will have a full day on September 3. 3) Dance to jazz 

Youville Place Assisted Living Residence is holding a concert featuring The Basin Street Dixieland Band features Boston's finest jazz performers playing songs from the '30's and '40's. These songs will have you dancing. The show is at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. 

4) Wine and Chat

5) Anuradha's Collection, Fall Open House

The Lexington Historical Society is a Fall Open House of ethnic Indian wear, silk sarees, silver jewelry, scarves and other unique gift items at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
