3-Alarm Fire Destroys North Shore Home Early Friday Morning

Ten departments, including Danvers, provided mutual aid and coverage as crews battled the Lynnfield blaze.

LYNNFIELD, MA — Nearly a dozen North Shore fire departments responded with mutual aid and station coverage for a three-alarm fire that destroyed a Lynnfield home early Friday morning.

Lynnfield fire said calls came in about midnight for a garage fire on Stafford Road. By the time crews arrived, the fire had spread to the attic and into the home.

All those in the house, including the family dog, were able to escape the home without injury. But by the time the fire was under control Friday morning, it was a total loss.

Lynnfield fire said the cause of the blaze is being investigated.

Mutual aid departments included Middleton, North Reading, Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield, Lynn, Saugus, and Northeast Ambulance assisted at the fire scene.

Melrose and Danvers engines as well as a Lynn ladder and Atlantic Ambulance provided station coverage to protect the town for any subsequent calls.
