The Lynnfield community is mourning the loss of its longest serving public official.

Lynnfield, MA - The Lynnfield community is mourning the loss of its longest serving public official.
E. Seavey Bowdoin died early Tuesday morning, according to social media posts. The longtime library trustee was said to be the longest serving official at 34 years.
"The Lynnfield Library and, in a much larger sense,the Town of Lynnfield were among the great passions of his life. He truly personified what it meant to be a genuine public servant who always looked for ways to improve the wonderful Town he was so proud to call home," selectman Chris Barrett said. "The impact of his record number of years serving as an elected official will be felt for many, many years to come due to the significant imprint he left on the Town of Lynnfield. They say a library is the heart of a community and we can proudly say that the heart of our community beats stronger than ever because of Mr. Bowdoin's dedication and passion for the Lynnfield Library."
