Having opened only one or two stores each year during the decade after 2009, Barnes & Noble has now opened 16 bookstores nationwide in 2022 with 30 more openings planned for 2023. The openings include a second Massachusetts location at Legacy Place in Dedham, which opens this week, a planned location in Natick, as well as three other Massachusetts stores.
"A bookstore is such an inviting space and we have built a very special one in Lynnfield," said Lynnfield store manager Kathleen Murphy, a Barnes & Noble bookseller of 24 years.
