Police Seek Info On Sedan Possibly Involved In Fatal Route 1 Crash
An Everett man, 22, was killed while a Malden woman, also 22, suffered "serious but non-life-threatening injuries," State Police said.
CHELSEA, MA — A rollover crash killed one person and sent another to the hospital early Sunday morning, according to State Police.
Now, State Police are looking for information after several witnesses said they saw a second vehicle potentially involved in the crash.
The crash took place around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday on Route 1 northbound near Route 16 in Chelsea. Chelsea police and fire personnel responded, State Police said, to find the car resting on its side having struck a median and rolled.

The car’s driver, a 22-year-old Everett man, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 22-year-old Malden woman who was also in the car during the crash was taken to Mass General Hospital with what police described as “serious but non-life-threatening injuries.”
Police said witnesses told them they saw another car, described as a blue sedan, potentially involved in the crash.

Route 1 was closed for roughly three hours on Sunday morning as a result of this crash, with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation diverting motorists in the area onto Route 16 eastbound.
The crash is under investigation by State Police. Troopers have asked anyone with information on the sedan to call them at 781-284-0038.
