At Least 2 People Dead In Everett Crane Collapse: Report

A crane fell from a far height on Friday afternoon.

EVERETT, MA — Two people have died in the aftermath of a crane collapse in Everett Friday afternoon, according to a report from Boston 25 News.

The collapse occurred on Island End in the vicinity of Rover Street over the Mystic River. The crane was elevated between four and five stories tall before it collapsed and plummeted to the ground. According to Police Chief Paul Strong, one person was pronounced dead at the scene while the other died at the hospital.

The identity of the pair who died has not yet been released, and the collapse remains under investigation.
