Firefighters Battle Flames, Frigid Cold In Malden
A three-alarm fire broke out at Grove and Glenwood Streets Monday night.
MALDEN, MA — Firefighters brought a three-alarm fire under control as temperatures dropped in Malden Monday night.
Multiple crews responded to a three-alarm fire at Grove and Glenwood Streets around 5 p.m., according to reports.
Police urged drivers to avoid Glenwood, Washington and Winter Streets, which were closed due to the fire. Photos and video from the scene showed flames coming from the roof of the building that houses the Oak Grove Laundry Center.

Malden Mayor Gary Christenson said there were no injuries.
"I just spoke with @MaldenFireChief and fortunately no residents or firefighters were injured," he tweeted at 9:20 p.m.

Medford Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn said some North Medford residents lost power due to National Grid de-energizing the line. Power was restored around 7:20 p.m.
