Drug Raid Nets Malden Man

The suspects were arraigned in Malden District Court on drug-related and firearms charges.

A 19-year-old Malden man was among five people arrested during a drug raid Friday morning in Everett.

The drugs raid resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of marijuana, a firearm, ammunition, brass knuckles, U.S. currency, cell phones and digital scales, according to Everett Police.

The raid was conducted by the Everett Police Special Criminal Investigation Unit led by Sgt. Sean Bagley and was assisted by members of the North Metro SWAT Unit. Following a surveillance of an Everett residence, detectives obtained a search warrant for the address on Fuller Street.

Dimitri Duvinard, 22 of Everett, Kenneth Williams, 19 of Dorchester, Rickey Edwards, 20 of Everett, John Lee Jackson, 21 of Mattapan and Isaih Irby, 19 of Malden, were arrested during the raid, according to authorities.

Everett Police Chief Steven A. Mazzie said in a statement that the arrests were another example of marijuana distribution that involves illegal firearms which has been a common trend lately.

The suspects were arraigned in Malden District Court on drug related and firearms charges. All suspects arrested by the Everett Police Department are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
