Brush Fire Disrupts Orange Line Service: Malden Fire Department
Regular service resumed at about 1:30 p.m., with residual delays.

MALDEN, MA — A brush fire near Oak Grove Station temporarily disrupted Orange Line service Friday afternoon.
According to the Malden Fire Department, a small brush fire along the tracks near the Oak Grove Station caused the delay. Brush on the tracks caught fire near several Washington Street homes, none of which were harmed in the blaze, according to MFD. Fire crews were wrapping up work on the scene as of about 1:15 p.m.
Buses temporarily replaced the Orange Line T between the Oak Grove and Wellington Stations in both directions, the Mass. Bay Transit Authority told riders Friday afternoon. The alert went out around 1 p.m. Stops on the shuttle route are Oak Grove, Malden Center, and Wellington.

As of about 2 p.m., the MBTA said regular T service has resumed, and residual delays have cleared up.
