Malden-Bred Blues Legend Subtly Shines At New Orleans Jazz Fest

No offense to Gary Cherone, but he is not, in fact, the most accomplished musician to emerge from Malden.

At least one songster - venerable blues and roots record producer and Rounder Records V.P. Scott Billington - wields a resume that easily trumps the former Extreme frontman.

However, it’s Billington’s turn performing children’s songs in the modest kids’ tent at the 2015 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival that sets the stage for an excellent profile published by NPR on Wednesday.

The chronicle of Billington’s life and career is highly recommend reading for fans of any style of music, those curious about famous people with Malden roots, or, really, anyone on the lookout for something interesting to read.
