Malden Flag Football Champion and Team Make it to Nationals

Mackenzie Curtis can be found scoring touchdowns against the boys. It was her outstanding play that landed her a spot on the all-star team.

Every Friday night in the spring, Mackenzie Curtis can be found scoring touchdowns against the boys at Macdonald Stadium. It was her outstanding play that landed her a spot on the all-girls all-star team, made up of girls from across the North Shore.

Curtis, lives in Malden and is an eighth grade student at Cheverus School. She plays defensive back and running back on the All-Girls North Shore Flag Football team that recently won the New England Patriots regional NFL FLAG tournament.

The team has qualified to go on to Nationals in San Francisco the week leading up to Super Bowl 50. Mayor Gary Christenson recently welcomed Mackenzie and congratulated her and the team on their great achievement.

Mackenzie has been playing flag football in Malden with her brothers since League Directors Jamie and Renee Rodriguez began the Malden Twisters Flag Football league three years ago. January.
