MALDEN, MA — It's tough to find a town without a Starbucks, especially one that's the size of Malden. Yet of the coffee giant's more than 32,000 shops around the world – 6,300 of which are in the United States – Maldonians have never had one to call their own.

"We've always been a Dunkin' Donuts town," Kevin Duffy, Malden's head of strategy and business development, told Boston.com.

But the city will soon get its first Starbucks, Mayor Gary Christenson announced Monday. The shop will be located on the corner of Exchange and Commercial streets, in the Exchange 200 building, near the Malden Center MBTA stop, the mayor said.
