Malden Man Charged In Capitol Riot Can't Go Near State House

MALDEN, MA — A Malden man arrested this week in connection with the riot at the U.S. Capitol building was released on person recognizance Thursday – but that comes with conditions, namely that he has to stay away from the Massachusetts State House, Universal Hub reported.

Sahady's lawyer argued the order was designed to silence him, but prosecutors said there are other avenues besides attending rallies for Sahady to express his support for Trump, the site reported.

Sahady, 46, is charged with disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds and knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building without lawful authority.

In the months leading up to the Jan. 6 riot, Sahady posted several times on social media about planning a demonstration against Biden to "send a message" to tyranny, according to court documents.

"It's important that millions of Americans show up in DC on January 6th to support the legitimate President, Donald Trump, and show Democrats what they will be facing if they continue to try to steal the Presidency," Twitter user Mark Shady, who the FBI believes is Sahady, wrote Dec. 20.

Subsequent posts from the Twitter account include "We have 7 buses coming. There are still spaces left" on Dec. 31, and "January 6th – Washington DC – it begins," posted Jan. 5, according to court documents.

The FBI used social media to track Sahady the day of the riot. But an agent ultimately used a Getty Images photo to place him inside the Capitol during the riot, according to court documents.

In addition to being prohibited from the State House, Sahady must forfeit his passport. He cannot leave Massachusetts or Washington, D.C. when his case is transferred there. His mother, with whom he lives, must also forfeit her licensed gun while the case is ongoing.
