Malden Man Person Of Interest In Killing Of Yale Grad Student: PD
Qinxuan Pan, 29, is wanted for questioning in the murder of 26-year-old Kevin Jiang, a US Army veteran and National Guard member.

MALDEN, MA — A Malden man has been named a person of interest in the fatal shooting of Yale graduate student Kevin Jiang, 26, gunned down Saturday in the East Rock neighborhood of New Haven, CT.
Qinxuan Pan is wanted for questioning but is "not a suspect at this time," police said. New Haven Police Chief Otoniel Reyes said there is a warrant for Pan's arrest for a car stolen out of Massachusetts.
Jiang, of West Haven, CT, was found shot to death around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Reyes said Pan is considered "armed and dangerous" but did not go so far as to explicitly tie him to the crime.

"I'm not saying he's the shooter at this point," Reyes said.
Pan is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, according to his Facebook. Reyes said he was staying at the Best Western motel in North Haven and officers in that town contacted New Haven police.

According to his Facebook profile, Pan works at MIT's Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. He is listed as a Google Scholar.
