Malden Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In I-195 Crash

The 33-year-old and his son were in an SUV that rolled over in Swansea Saturday afternoon.

SWANSEA, MA — A Malden man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a crash on in Swansea Saturday afternoon.

The crash happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. on the eastbound side of I-195, state police said. The 33-year-old was behind the wheel of a 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLS that went off the road, down an embankment and rolled over, police said.

The man was ejected in the crash. His son, 11 years old, was wearing a seatbelt and sustained potentially minor injuries, police said.

The man was first taken to a hospital in Fall River and then to Rhode Island Hospital, where he remained in critical condition as of Sunday morning.

The crash remains under investigation.
