Malden Most Diverse School District In MA, According To Niche

The Niche rankings also recognized two Malden schools as being among the most diverse public schools in the state.

MALDEN, MA — The Malden Public Schools is the most diverse school district in Massachusetts, and two of its schools are among the most diverse in the state, according to Niche's 2022 rankings of best schools.

Niche gave Malden an A+ grade for racial and economic diversity, based on survey responses on school culture and diversity from students and parents. Of the district's more than 6,400 students, 27.8 percent are white, 26.1 percent are Hispanic, 22.9 percent are Asian, 18.8 percent are Black, 4.1 percent are multiracial and 0.1 percent are Native American, according to Niche.

The district is close to evenly split among gender, with 48 percent of students identifying as female and 52 percent identifying as male.

Malden High School was named the most diverse public high school in the state. The Ferryway School was ranked the second-most diverse public elementary school, behind the Kennedy-Longfellow School in Cambridge.
