Malden Police Welcome Newest Officer
An induction ceremony was held at the Malden Police Station on Eastern Avenue.

MALDEN, MA — The police department celebrated the swearing-in of its newest officer on Monday.
Claudemir Pugliessa recently graduated from the Randolph Police Academy. During his time in training, Pugliessa was recognized for his proficiency in Emergency Vehicle Operation with the EVOC Award. His decorated history also includes his service in the United States Army Reserve.
Police Chief Glenn Cronin, Commissioner Barbara Murphy, and City Clerk Carol Ann Desiderio led the event that was headlined by the ceremonial badge-pinning. Some of Pugliessa’s family traveled from Brazil to attend his coronation.

“We are proud to have him (Pugliessa) join the ranks of the Malden Police Department, and we wish him a safe, successful, and meaningful career,” the department said in a statement.
