Malden Promotes Police Officer To Sergeant
Daniel Bourque was honored with a promotion ceremony on Friday morning.

MALDEN, MA — Malden has a new police sergeant after a promotion this week for Malden Police Officer Daniel Bourque.
The Malden Police Department (MPD) held a ceremony for Bourque on Friday morning, formally elevating Bourque to his new rank.
"Officer Bourque is yet another shining example of what it looks like to earn the trust of our community," Malden Police Chief Glenn Cronin said during the ceremony.

Bourque joined the Malden Police 12 years ago, serving as a patrol officer for the majority of his career. Over more than decade in law enforcement to date, Borque has spent time as a member of the Malden SWAT team and the Malden traffic enforcement unit.
Now a police sergeant, Borque was previously a sergeant in the U.S. Army.

He was joined on Friday by his family at his promotion ceremony.
"One hundred years from now, Dan's legacy will undoubtably be remembered as a life of service to his country to his community and to his family," Cronin said. "I can't think of anything more honorable and fulfilling than that."
