Malden Resident Surprised With Lifetime Achievement Award
Marion Desmond has spent her life giving back as a school nurse, food pantry volunteer and North Shore Black Women's Association member.

MALDEN, MA — Longtime Malden resident Marion Desmond was surprised with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Mayor Gary Christenson, City Council President Neal Anderson and Ward 5 Councillor Barbara Murphy presented the award to Desmond, who has lived in Malden for more than 50 years.
Desmond spent her life giving back and helping others, working as a school nurse, volunteering at food pantries, singing in the church choir and serving as a member of the North Shore Black Women’s Association.

Desmond and her husband Kenneth raised their two children in Malden. Her son, Appeals Court judge Ken Desmond, attended the awards ceremony.
