Malden Rugby in National Championship Saturday
The championship game will be live-streamed at Hugh O'Neill's at 9 p.m.
MALDEN, MA - The Mystic River Rugby Club will play for the Division 1 National Championship Saturday in Colorado.
The team earned their spot in the championship match after two hard-fought victories recently in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Mystics will be travelling to Glendale, Colorado to compete against the Austin Blacks in the National Championship match on Saturday, June 4.
This will be the second time Mystic River has qualified for the National Championship, with their last appearance in 1992, despite the club making it to advanced rounds multiple times in the last 10 years. The championship game will be live-streamed at Hugh OβNeillβs at 45 Pleasant Street.

Mystic River Rugby Club, an amateur Menβs Division 1 rugby club based out of Pine Banks Park in Malden was founded in 1974 and has a long tradition of rugby excellence and local involvement, with large numbers of players coming from local communities, a release said. The last decade has seen the club expand to include dedicated youth rugby programs catering to children and young adults between the ages of six and twenty two, according to a release.
