Malden Store Sells $1 Million Lottery Ticket

MALDEN, MA — A Medford woman is celebrating after she won a $1 million prize on a lottery ticket that she recently bought in Malden.
Kathryn McDaid won the prize through the state lottery’s “100X The Money” instant ticket game, as noted in a press release from the Massachusetts Lottery last month.
McDaid bought the ticket from Pumpsy’s Liquors in Malden, which will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling a winning ticket.

McDaid opted to take a $650,000 one-time pre-tax payment, with plans to donate some of the money to charity, according to the Massachusetts Lottery.
McDaid told the Massachusetts Lottery that she chose this ticket because it was in dispenser 12, which is her son’s birth date.

Pumpsy’s Liquors is located at 271 Highland Ave. in Malden.
