Malden's First Starbucks Opens At Exchange 200
With more than 32,000 stores around the world, the coffee giant has somehow eluded Malden until now.

MALDEN, MA — Malden's first Starbucks opened at Exchange 200 on Tuesday.
The café features 2,500 square feet of space and outdoor patio seating. It joins restaurants 110 Grill and Evviva Trattoria at Exchange 200, a mixed-use building across from the Malden Center T stop that aims to attract life science and R&D companies.
"Having highly popular tenants like Starbucks at Exchange 200 will undoubtedly attract top-level lab, life science, and office/R&D tenants to Exchange 200," Dan McGrath, senior vice president of property owner Berkley Investments, said. "We've worked closely with the mayor and the city of Malden to ensure the right tenant mix at this transit-oriented development. Starbucks, 110 Grill and Evviva Trattoria will not only appeal to our tenants and their employees, but Malden residents alike."

Starbucks' first customer was Mayor Gary Christenson, who ordered his favorite seasonal drink, a pumpkin spice Frappuccino.
The Malden location is part of the coffee giant's plan to open more than 20,000 new cafés over the next decade and 55,000 shops by fiscal year 2030.
