Malden's Spadafora Slush Shuts Down

MALDEN, MA — A longtime family-run business in Malden has closed its doors.

Spadafora Slush shut down Tuesday night after more than 40 years, according to a post on the shop's Facebook page.

The business started as a small convenience store on Highland Avenue before evolving into a full-service ice cream and slush shop.

"We have had the pleasure of sponsoring little league teams, supporting local organizations through-out the surrounding communities, as well as providing jobs to area youth. This was done because we love Malden, our home," the Spadafora family wrote in a statement on Facebook.

Spadafora Slush was located at 136 Highland Ave.
