Three Finalists For Principal For Malden High School

What three questions should Malden Patch ask each finalist?

MALDEN, Mass. -- The Malden High School Principal Search Committee recently announced three finalists for the high school principal position. Principal Dana Brown, will leave his post on June 30, 2016.

The three candidates all live in the city, and submitted formal applications for the position. Here are some of the highlights from their resumes for each candidate - in no particular order:

Kevin Brill, a Malden resident with children in the public schools, has been the associate head of School at Fenway High School in Boston since 1994.

Brill received his Bachelor of Science from Manchester university, United Kingdom, in 1989. He earned a postgraduate Certificate of Study in Education Teaching High School Science and Math from Manchester University in 1990 and also received a postgraduate Certificate of Study in Principal Residency Network for School Administrator Licensure in 2001.Β Before becoming an administrator at Fenway High School, Brill taught math and science, and was technology coordinator.

Ted Lombardi, a Malden native, has been the principal at the Humanities and Leadership Development High School in Lawrence since 2013.

He served as assistant principal at the school from 2008 to 2013, and taught English for three years at the school before he advancing into school administration.

Lombardi is working on his Doctor of Education in educational leadership at Northeastern University. He earned his Masters of Science from Boston University in 2994, and his Masters of Education from Salem State University in 2008. Among his accomplishments listed, Lombardi helped to guide the school from its infancy into one that has consistently outperformed schools of similar demographics.

Richard Bransfield, a Malden native, has been the principal of the Linden STEAM Academy, a K-8 school since 2012 in Malden. Before that, Bransfield was the assistant principal at the Beebe School in Malden from 2006 to 2011.

He earned his Master of Education in 1989 from Boston University.

Among his accomplishments listed, Bransfield created the city’s first Innovation School and founded the district’s first after school, vacation program that is now the Partnership for community Schools in Malden.
