New Asian Restaurant Is The Third Of Its Kind In Malden

Phat Thaiger is the third Asian restaurant opened by the Malden ownership duo.

MALDEN, MA — A new Asian restaurant has arrived in Malden.

Phat Thaiger has officially opened its doors on 166 Eastern Ave. The restaurant describes itself as a “cultural experience” that offers Japanese izakaya offerings as well as dishes inspired by Thailand’s Northeastern Issan region. Izakaya dishes are characterized by smaller portions similar to appetizers that are meant to be eaten casually with drinks. Phat Taiger becomes the third Malden restaurant owned by duo Nisa Thanangthirapong and Usanis Siritararatn. They are also the co-owners of Thaiger Den and Crying Thaiger.

Mayor Gary Christenson headlined many city leaders who attended a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, May 20.
