Revere Spa Owner, 2 Employees Accused Of Sex Offenses
Geralda De Matos Garland was indicted on sex trafficking charges. Two of her employees are accused of sexually assaulting clients.
REVERE, MA — A Revere woman has been indicted on charges related to a sex trafficking operation she is accused of running through her day spa. Two of her employees are also accused of sexually assaulting clients who were seeking massages.
Geralda De Matos Garland, 57, was charged with two counts of trafficking of persons for sexual servitude and one count each of keeping a house of ill fame and money laundering.
The state attorney general's office said Garland's business, Crystal's Day Spa, was a front for her "profitable and organized criminal enterprise."

Lucas Sobreira, 29, of Everett, was indicted on charges of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 and assault and battery. Giacomo Neto, 41, of Lynn, was indicted on two counts each of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14 and assault and battery.
A joint investigation by the Massachusetts State Police, Revere Police Department, Division of Professional Licensure and the Suffolk County District Attorney found that Garland facilitated commercial sexual activity by recruiting women and offering their services for a fee, the attorney general said.

Garland also posted online advertisements offering commercial sex, arranged appointments with buyers, collected money from buyers and profited from the activity, investigators said.
Sobreira and Neto, who worked at the spa, are accused of sexually assaulting people who were not aware the spa offered illegal sexual services. Sobreira is accused of assaulting a person in 2018, and Neto is alleged to have committed two sexual assaults earlier this year, the attorney general said.
Garland, Sobreira and Neto will be arraigned in Suffolk Superior Court at a later date.
