UPDATE: All OK In Friday Morning School Bus Accident

A school bus accident was reported at 438 Broadway in Malden at about 7:45 Friday morning, according to police scanner reports.

Eight people were being evaluated for injuries at the scene, according to a post on Twitter.

The students, ranging in age from 6 to 12 years, were taken to area hospitals solely as a precaution because of their age, a fire department spokesman said. 

The vehicle, which rear-ended the bus, had to be towed away due to the extent of its damages. 

Students were being transported to a number of different schools, Superintendent David DeRuosi said. 

All appear to be okay and have been released from the hospital, he added.
