Service Details For Malden Police Sgt. Michael Giordano

MALDEN, MA — The Malden Police Department has announced wake and service details for Sgt. Michael Giordano.

Giordano died Wednesday after battling a "devastating illness," Chief Kevin Molis said.

"Sergeant Mike Giordano stood with us and served alongside us," Molis said in a statement. "As a police department and a police family, we will now stand and serve his grieving family as they carry their burden of sorrow."

On Thursday, members of the Malden police and fire departments saluted Giordano as he was escorted to the Weir Funeral Home from a hospital in Boston.

A wake for Giordano will be held Monday, Dec. 6 from 4-8 p.m. at the Weir Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street. Giordano's funeral will take place Tuesday, Dec. 7 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 790 Salem Street.
