Two Malden Men Facing Federal Drug Charges
Two Guatemalan natives have been arraigned on multiple cocaine-related offenses.
MALDEN, MA — Two Malden men are facing federal drug charges, according to the United States District Attorney’s Office.
43-year-old Erick Sandoval-Perez has been charged with conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute cocaine. 32-year-old Christhian Castillo was charged Wednesday with distribution and possession, and conspiracy to distribute 500 or more grams of cocaine. Both men are Guatemalan natives. According to court records, Sandoval-Perez was previously deported back to Guatemala and re-entered the United States illegally.
The duo was reportedly caught when they sold a kilogram of cocaine to undercover law enforcement on Wednesday, Feb. 12.

Sandoval-Perez is facing a minimum sentence of 20 years in prison and a fine up to $1,000,000. Meanwhile, Castillo’s charges carry a minimum sentence of 40 years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000,000.
