A Dorchester man who police say tried to fight officers after a police chase is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.

EVERETT, MA — New video has surfaced surrounding the arrest of a man who officials say crashed into several police cruisers during a chase through part of the North Shore on Tuesday morning.
In the video, several Massachusetts State Police cruisers are seen surrounding the entrance to Encore Casino in Everett, where at least four troopers are working to apprehend 40-year-old Dennis R. Penney, of Dorchester.
The video pans over to show the side of a blue SUV which had been smashed in on the driver's side. Penney was arrested and pleaded not guilty to assault and motor vehicle charges, as well as narcotics charges. He was held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing next week.

Penney is accused of striking a total of three Massachusetts State Police cruisers, one of them more than once, as well as a Chelsea police cruiser during the chase. He also hit at least one other car, but no injuries were reported.
Eventually, cruisers followed the SUV to the grounds of the Encore casino in Everett when they say the Penney got out of the car and tried to fight a few troopers. One officer was able to use a Taser on Penney, who was then taken to the hospital for an evaluation with troopers following.
The investigation remains ongoing and no further information was immediately available.
