Woman Found Dead In Belize Had Ties To Malden

MALDEN, MA — One of the three women found dead in San Pedro this past weekend had ties to the Malden School District, according to the city's public high school.

Kaoutar Naqqad, Imane Mallah, and Wafae El-Arar were found dead in their suite at the Royal Kahal Beach Resort on Saturday, Feb. 22. While all three were residents of Revere, 24-year-old Mallah graduated from Malden High School in 2019. According to a report from The Boston Globe, the women are believed to have died from acute pulmonary edema, in which fluid builds up in the lungs.
