Poll: Should "Constructive Possession" Be Allowed in Mansfield?
New Mansfield High School Policy stipulates that students could be punished for constructive possession of illicit materials.

The new policy now allows the school to incur penalties on students under the MIAA Chemical Health Rule for constructive possession.
This means that any student found to be in the area where drugs, alcohol or steroids (evidenced by a police report) are being illegally consumed to be in violation of the MIAA rule, incurring whatever penalties the rule stipulates.

Though the final decision is left to the attending principal, it is a major step away from the MIAA rules, which state that guilt by association is not a viable condition to incur penalties.
Yet assistant principal Dawn Stockwell said that the MIAA rules are the minimum a school has to adhere to, and that this rule is practiced in many other schools (without discretion left to the principal) in the area.
