Host Families Needed for EF Homestay

This summer, host families are needed for 120 students from Spain, China and Hong Kong.

"EF Homestay" is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting international student exchange. Because of their love of American culture, and wanting to be a part of it, students will stay with local volunteer host families.

They will be sharpening their English skills by taking part in morning classes consisting of History, English, and other subjects. Afternoons will be spent taking part in local educational tours and sight seeing. There will be as many as 5000 students, staying with host families in various cities throughout the US.

Our programs allow students to experience American culture, as they perfect their English skills. The students stay in three groups July 6-19th, July 20th- August 8th and August 10-August 17th. Students will be attending English language and cultural courses at Endicott College as well as escorted afternoon activities during the week.

The flexibility of the program provides for you and your family to join us for these activities, or rely on EF to take care of your student. The weekends, evenings, and Friday afternoons are free for you to enjoy with your student. You can even take them on any family outings you may have already planned. Students do not need their own room. We have a round the clock support in the area and students come fully insured.

The students are part of an organization from E.F., which stands for Education First. The goal of the non-profit organization is to bring different nations together to promote friendship, peace and understanding of other cultures. Today, more than ever, cultural awareness is so important to us and to future generations. E.F. has been bringing students from different nations and host families together for over 40 years. The language programs are based on immersion learning. EF knows that learning doesn’t end when the classes do, and students will continue to practice their English skills while having breakfast with their host families, or asking directions at the mall.

Host families provide a home away from home for the students and lifetime bonds of friendships are formed. There are wonderful stories to tell of students that have kept intouch with their host families through the years. Host Families have also traveled to see a former student, and stayed with the student's family in their home country. It is such a good feeling to know that we can make a difference in someone’s life and that our visitors will always remember the summer they spent in America as one of the best times in their lives.

Along with the personal rewards that come with hosting, families receive a generous weekly (up to $2,400 per family). Hosting families also receive discounts for any of the many EF programs offered to elementary and high school students, or other language travel programs, as well as Au Pair.
