North Shore Swimmers Shine At Meet

North Shore Swim Club at Salem State, The Marblehead JCC, and Gordon College is in the middle of a great swim season. This year, two big contributors are Pingree School Team Captain Emma Gaquin, and Big Blue sophomore Hannah Schultz.

Emma Gaquin is having a break through  junior year swimming the 1650 on Thursday evening she took off over 30seconds form her time for last years short course season.

In this race she was also out her  1000 and 500 time she ended the race in 10th place. Swimming this past weekend at the M.I.T Invitational, Gaquin's time in the 500 freestyle  was a 5:15.01which put her at 7th place.

She also has posted a 10th place finish in the 1000 freyleest. Hannah Schultz earned several best times at the M.I.T meet with highlights including a 500 freestyle time of 5:48.19 and a 200 freestyle time of 2:07.75. Both swimmers will be representing North Shore Swim Club, Pingree School, and Swampscott High School poolside at Massachusetts High School Sectionals and State Meets in February.

As well as great High School swimmers, North Shore also has a great age group and junior program that help bridge the levels from the town recreational program to the high school programs. These programs take the time to teach young children all four strokes and teach them the correct technique in starts and turns.
