Andrew Scoglio to be featured Holiday Pops 2024 soloist

Andrew Scoglio will be the featured guest soloist at this year’s Holiday Pops presented by Marblehead Harbor Rotary on Saturday, December 14, at Abbot Hall.

Scoglio will perform with the Hillyer Festival Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Dirk Hillyer. The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with a champagne reception catered by Louise Moore’s Every Little Breeze Catering and beverages by Northshore Bartending Services. The concert will begin at 8 p.m.

An active choral singer and soloist, Scoglio has performed with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and Boston Symphony Orchestra at Symphony Hall, Tanglewood, and Carnegie Hall. Along with a select choral roster of the TFC and the Boston Pops Brass, Scoglio performed the National Anthem at Fenway Park for Game 2 of the 2018 World Series.

Scoglio is well-known locally as the baritone soloist and section leader for the Old North Festival Chorus in Marblehead, and also as the Lead Teacher for the Performing & Applied Arts at Marblehead High School and Veterans Middle School. He directs the High School and Middle School choral music programs consisting of three choirs and three contemporary a cappella groups.

In 2023, Scoglio conducted the Massachusetts Eastern Junior District Honor Choir and was a conducting fellow and choral singer at the Sarteano Choral Conducting Workshop in Tuscany. Ensembles under his direction have earned high honors and awards at several high school music festivals and competitions. He also leads the Marblehead High School Music Department on a performance tour of Ireland as a part of the American Celebration of Music Concert Series through Music Celebrations International.

Scoglio has studied voice with Andrew Garland, William Hite, and Jennifer Sgroe. He has earned his Master’s degree in Music Education from Gordon College and his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Tickets for the Marblehead Harbor Rotary’s Holiday Pops 2024 Concert are now on sale and subject to availability at www.RotaryClubofMheadHarbor.org. Just look for the “Click Here” link on the homepage. Balcony tickets are also available at Arnould Gallery and Framery at 111 Washington Street in Marblehead. Balcony tickets are $45 each and floor seats are $85 each. Seating is limited.
