MARBLEHEAD, MA — A Marblehead woman filed a lawsuit against her stepson and his wife in Salem Superior Court last week in an attempt to reclaim Rosie, a purebred 1 1/2 year old light golden retriever. Kelly Green, 71, purchased Rosie from a North Carolina breeder last year for $1,300, but asked Tim and Stephanie Green to care for the dog when her mother became ill and eventually died earlier this year. In her lawsuit, Kelly Green claims the couple have refused to give her the "unfettered access" she set as a stipulation when she asked them to care for Rosie.

Kelly Green's lawsuit also claims Tim and Stephanie Green have abused the dog and have defamed her by claiming that Kelly green abused Rosie. According to the Salem News, which first reported this story, the two sides have failed to work out a resolution in out-of-court sitdowns.
